Privacy Policy

Effective date: 19 March 2026

This policy explains how LARD collects, uses, and handles personal information when you use lard.build and related services.

Who This Policy Covers

This policy applies to LARD website and mobile app services, including beta builds distributed through app stores and direct links.

What We Collect

  • Account and contact data (for example name, email, role, organisation/project membership, invite status).
  • Worksite content you create in the app (for example log text, report content, photos, and audio recordings/transcriptions).
  • Permission-gated data for related features, including camera (photo capture), microphone (voice capture), photo/media library selection, and location (for project/weather/location features). Permission prompts may appear at first app launch and/or first feature use depending on platform behavior.
  • Technical, diagnostic, and analytics data (for example device/app metadata, crash logs, event telemetry, and service logs).

How We Collect and Hold Information

  • Directly from you when you create an account, submit forms, create logs/reports, upload media, or contact support.
  • Automatically from your device/app when required to operate, secure, and improve the service.
  • Through service providers that host infrastructure and operational tooling on our behalf.
  • Stored in app infrastructure and controlled service-provider systems, and in limited cached form on your device.

How We Use Information

  • To provide core app functionality (account access, collaboration, logs/reports, media and transcription workflows).
  • To run, secure, maintain, and improve the service, including debugging and abuse/fraud prevention.
  • To communicate with you about account/service matters, support, and (where permitted) updates.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information.

We may share personal information with service providers acting on our behalf for hosting, authentication/database operations, analytics/monitoring, transcription, communications, and support operations. This may include providers such as Supabase, PostHog, Sentry, AssemblyAI, and email delivery services.

We may also disclose information where required by law, lawful request, or to protect rights, safety, and platform integrity.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, or as required/permitted by law (for example security, fraud prevention, legal, accounting, or regulatory obligations). When no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

Access, Correction, and Deletion

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting support@lard.build. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

If your account can be deleted through in-app or linked account-management flows, associated personal information will be deleted or de-identified subject to legal and operational retention requirements described above.

International Data Handling

Our service providers may process or store personal information in Australia and other jurisdictions where they operate. We take reasonable steps to ensure handling is subject to appropriate privacy and security controls.

Complaints

If you believe we have breached applicable privacy requirements, contact support@lard.build first so we can investigate and respond.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC): oaic.gov.au/privacy/privacy-complaints.
